Shipboard Electronics face one of the most harshest of environments.  From the Freezing conditions of Artic Waters to the high temperatures of the Persian Gulf, then add the constant vibration and low shock in normal seas to extreme vibration and shock of rough seas, along with a constant salt corrosive atmosphere environment and the requirement for all electronics to pass the MIL-S-901 Torpedo Hit Test 300 G’s for hard deck mounted equipment or 170 G’s for soft deck mounted equipment, and you can see that only the best can survive in this environment.  Abbott has been providing shipboard electronics for over 50 years.
