In August, Abbott Technologies met with unmanned systems community leaders, experts, scientists, and customers at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2013 Conference. The event focused on the future of UAV and included keynote addresses from daredevil explorer and inventor Dr. Bill Stone; Lt. Gen. James O. Barclay, deputy chief of staff, Army G-8; Deputy Secretary John Porcari, U.S. Department of Transportation; and Rear Adm. Mathias W. Winter, program executive officer, Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons, U.S. Navy.
The world of UAV is more exciting than ever, and event attendees were inspired to push the boundaries in the future. "I was there on the first day when everyone was setting up," shared John Batte, Abbott Technologies Sales Associate. "It was wild to see some of these UAVs being brought into the convention hall."
Abbott Technologies is at the cutting edge of unmanned systems. "We’re proud to be a partner in this exciting global effort," said CEO Kerima Batte. "We’re currently involved in launching systems, air ships, and unmanned undersea vehicles where the demand for reliable power conversion is imperative."
With mission critical applications dating back to the successful landing of Apollo 11 in 1969, Abbott Technologies leverages over 50 years of rock solid reliability in all of its UAV products. That experience translates seamlessly into innovative new products. Chief engineer Ralph Livingstone affirmed, "I feel confident about our ability to fit into the new technology displayed at the AUVSI conference."
